Priego de Córdoba | Local Olive Oil From Province of Córdoba, Spain | TasteAtlas

Priego de Córdoba

The extra virgin olive oil of Priego de Cordoba is produced in a small olive growing area just northwest of the city of Granada. The Mediterranean climate of this region and significant diurnal temperature variation slow the ripening of the olives which greatly increases the quality of the harvested fruits. Priego de Cordoba oil is made with the fruits of the Picudo, Picual or Marteño, Hojiblanca, Lucio, Nevadillo de Alhama de Granada and Loaime olive varieties. The color of this oil ranges through various tones of yellow and its flavor is sweet to slightly bitter.
