Aprutino Pescarese | Local Olive Oil From Province of Pescara, Italy | TasteAtlas

Aprutino Pescarese

This variety of olive oil is produced in the province of Pescara located in the heart of the Abruzzo region which is characterized by mountains and hills, settled between the Sirente area and the Adriatic sea. Due to the micro-climate of the area and the quality of the soil (limestone, clay, sand or silt), this region has ideal conditions for the production of high-quality olive oil such as Aprutino Pescarese.

It is obtained from the two main varieties: Leccino and Toccolana, which represent at least 80% of the final product, while the other 20% can be obtained from other local olive varieties. This excellent olive oil has a yellow to greenish color and a pronounced fruity taste.

Apruntino Pescarese is suitable for use in all kinds of traditional dishes, salads, sauces or even for frying.
