Les Garrigues | Local Olive Oil From Garrigues, Spain | TasteAtlas

Les Garrigues

Les Garrigues is the oldest Spanish olive oil protected by the Designation of Origin document, and was certified more than thirty years ago. Every step of the production is carefully regulated thus ensuring the origin and the exceptional quality of one of the finest oils in the world.

This oil is obtained by cold pressing the olives to preserve its natural properties. Produced in the south-east of the province of Lérida, Les Garrigues is bright green and sweet oil with the notes of bitter almonds and sweet fruits. It is produced using the Arbequina and Verdiell olive varieties that give this oil full body and piquant flavor.

During the aging process, Les Garrigues becomes yellower in color and mellower and smoother in flavor.
