Black peas

(Maple peas, Parched peas)

Black peas are a Lancashire specialty consisting of slowly boiled maple peas served with lots of malt vinegar. The dish is traditionally prepared and sold on November 5th, also known as Bonfire Night or Guy Fawkes' Day. This comforting dish can be served hot or cold, and it is usually consumed out of a cup when bought at fairgrounds from street vendors.
