Jabłka grójeckie refers to 40 different varieties of apples that have a 5% higher level of acidity than it is the average for each specific variety, all of which are grown and harvested in the Mazowieckie and Lódzkie provinces in Poland, where the sand-and-clay soil and a mild, near-continental climate favorably influence the apple-growing business and their color, size, and specific pulp.

That is why the region is affectionately called “Europe's biggest orchard”, where the apples have been grown since the Middle Ages. The apples have a blush that is larger than the average by about 5%, and the red blush proves the higher content of anthocyanins and carotenoids under their skin.
