Aceite Sierra Del Moncayo | Local Olive Oil From Tarazona y el Moncayo, Spain | TasteAtlas

Aceite Sierra del Moncayo

Aceite Sierra del Moncayo is an extra virgin olive oil made in the area between the Ebro valley and the Moncayo massif. This region produces more than 4 million kilos of olives annually. 70% of this oil must come from the Empeltre variety, and not more than 25% should come from Arbequina olives.

Other local olive varieties used in this olive oil are Negral, Verdial and Royal. This is a balanced oil with the bitter and spicy undertones, and flavors that resemble those of green fruit and nuts. All that, combined with careful extraction and refining makes Aceite Sierra del Moncayo unique and different from the rest of the oils produced in other regions.
