Volailles de l'Orleanais is firm-fleshed poultry with excellent organoleptic properties, grown in the areas of Loiret, Eure-et-Loir and Loir-et-Cher in France. It can be sold as a whole, ready-made meal or in specific pieces, and it can be either fresh or frozen.
The poultry is reared in the open air, on grassy, well-shaded land, and slaughtered when they reach an age that is close to sexual maturity. Their lifespan (81 days) is twice that of other poultry that is raised in standard conditions, which is why the meat is held in such high regards among consumers, with a uniqueness in both taste and color.
