Volailles du Gers

Volailles du Gers is poultry from the Gers department in France, with delicate skin, firm flesh, excellent taste and quality. Gris du Gers chicken is the second most famous poultry in France with a very high reputation for its unique meat.

In the 70s, the first producers created an association (AVIGERS) to create a sustainable, safer way for poultry growing. The quality control is really strict: the animals are grown slowly on farms, they feed on a diet rich in cereals (80%), have access to big, grassy meadows, and their food intake and bacteriological content is checked upon regularly.

It is best to eat it roasted, grilled or fricasseed, paired with roasted or mashed potatoes and rosemary.
