Trinidad Sour | Local Cocktail From Brooklyn, United States of America | TasteAtlas

Trinidad Sour

Trinidad Sour is an IBA-approved cocktail that originated in Brooklyn. The cocktail combines Angostura bitters, orgeat syrup, lemon juice, and rye whisky. The bitters are the base, and the cocktail uses an entire ounce and a half, making it quite bitter and different from standard combinations that only use a dash or two.

To prepare Trinidad Sour, the ingredients are shaken with ice and then strained into a chilled coupe glass. This cocktail is traditionally not garnished. Trinidad Sour is one of the modern classics. It was invented by Giuseppe Gonzalez, a bartender at Clover Club in Brooklyn.
