Rosso Cònero is a ruby red wine produced in the province of Ancona. The principal grape variety is Montepulciano, which must constitute at least 85% of the blend, while the typical addition includes Sangiovese grapes. The wines are typically full-bodied, with firm tannins that may mellow with age.

They usually display fruit aromas of cherries, plums, and forest fruit, while the aged varieties may develop into more robust aromas of leather and tobacco. Rosso Cònero wines pair well with meat-based dishes, vincisgrassi—Marche-style lasagna—local ciauscolo sausage, game, and aged cheese.
