Romagna Albana is an Italian appellation located in Emilia-Romagna. Although the appellation also includes dry wines, passito styles—produced from Albana grapes that have been partially dried on the vine—are the undisputed star of the entire region.
The wines, which must be aged for a minimum of ten months, are praised for their intensity, velvety texture, and dominant notes of dried flowers, spices, honey, and dried fruit. They are best paired with creamy or dry desserts, tarts, and cheese.
