Morning Glory Fizz is a Scotch-based cocktail that includes absinthe, sugar, fresh lemon and lime juice, and an egg white. The ingredients are first shaken dry (without ice) and then again with ice. The combination is poured into a highball glass, and the drink is topped with soda.
This cocktail is usually garnished with orange zest or orange wheel. Morning Glory appeared throughout the 1800s, and it was featured in several publications. However, Harry Johnson is often credited as its inventor, and the cocktail was first recorded in his 1882 book The New and Improved Bartenders’ Manual.
