Four Score is an English cocktail made with three parts brandy, two parts Lillet, and one part yellow Chartreuse. In order to prepare it, all ingredients should be stirred with ice, then strained into a cocktail glass garnished with a lemon twist.
This cocktail was invented by the legendary barman Joe Gilmore for Sir Winston Churchill’s 80th birthday. Interestingly, he also created another cocktail for Churchill’s 90th birthday, called
The Blenheim, which is also known as
Four Score and Ten.
