Volailles de Cholet is poultry meat sold as whole carcases or cut pieces, produced in the French regions of Maine-et-Loire, Loire-Atlantique, Deux-Sévres and Vendée. In the past, all the poultry that was produced in the regions was sold at the market in Cholet since the 18th century, but by the end of the 19th century, Cholet poultry was recognised and so popular that it spread to the Parisian region.
