Saketini | Local Cocktail From Queens, United States of America | TasteAtlas

Saketini

This potent cocktail is made with a combination of sake and other ingredients – usually liqueurs, fruit juices, distilled spirits, and simple sugar syrups. Since there is no fixed recipe for a Saketini, there are numerous versions of the drink.

Typically, the cocktail is made with a combination of gin and sake. The name Saketini is derived from two words – sake, its key ingredient, and martini, a cocktail that is traditionally prepared with gin and vermouth. It is believed that this cocktail was invented in Queens by chef Matsuda San in 1964, but it gained popularity in the 1990s.
