Clos de Vougeot is the largest grand cru in Côte de Nuits region (Côte-d’Or) of Burgundy. The wines are produced from Pinot Noir and tend to be rich and complex with excellent aging potential. Because the appellation is divided among numerous owners, the quality of the wines can differ, but the best varieties are mostly dominated with aromas of red and black fruit, notes of roses or violets, as well as nuances of licorice, truffles, and wild mint.
