Uva de Mesa Embolsada 'Vinalopó' | Local Grapes From Medio Vinalopó, Spain | TasteAtlas

Uva de mesa embolsada 'Vinalopó'

(Vinalopó bagged grapes)

Uva de mesa embolsada 'Vinalopo' are grapes of the white Aledo, Italia or Ideal, Rosetti, Victoria, Dominga and Doña María varieties and the black Red Globe variety.

These varieties are cultivated in the province of Alicante: Agost, Aspe, Hondón de Los Frailes, Hondón de las Nieves, Monforte del Cid, Novelda and La Romana. All the individual grapes must be of the demanded size and shape and attached to the stalk.

When the grapes start ripening in July, the best bunches are placed inside a paper bag to protect them from rain and humidity and prevent the berries from developing skin defects. This technique prolongs ripening and results in a higher quality of these berries and their stronger flavor.
