Trennette

Trennette is a smaller variety of trenne pasta – narrow, short, shaped like a quill, and with a hollow center. On the exterior, trennette pasta has rough ridges, making it an ideal choice for richer, chunkier sauces as it holds the flavors quite well.


Traditionally, trennette are produced in the Abruzzo region, and one must be very careful not to confuse trennette (two N's) with trenette (one N), which is a totally different pasta variety.
