Juju Dhau

(जुजु धौ, King Yogurt)

Juju dhau or King yogurt is a Nepalese specialty made by boiling buffalo milk in a clay pot and leaving it to ferment. It is characterized by its rich flavor and a unique, creamy texture which is thick enough not to drop off when the pot is turned upside down.


The yogurt has a slightly sweet flavor coming from spices such as cardamom, coconut shavings, and cloves. Juju dhau symbolizes purity, so it is a key part of numerous religious celebrations in Nepal.
