Gold Rum
Gold rum is a rum category that falls between light white rums and more complex dark styles. Due to unclear regulations and a significant number of varieties, golden rums often differ in their final character, but they are usually oak-aged to attain complexity and distinctive amber color.
They range from light to medium-bodied styles and have more intensity than white rums. Although most are oak-aged to develop flavors and attain color, some types can include additional coloring agents. Gold rums can be enjoyed neat, but they are also used in cocktails and long drinks.
