Asolo Prosecco is a DOCG wine region from Treviso that produces top-quality Prosecco wines. Although still and frizzante (semi-sparkling) are also made in the region, most production is oriented towards spumante (fully sparkling) styles, which are the only ones that can be labeled as Superiore.
Just like in Prosecco DOC, Glera is the principal grape in the region. Other permitted varieties include Bianchetta Trevigiana, Verdiso, Perera, and Glera lunga. Asolo Prosecco is often distinguished for its characteristic freshness, mineral character, and salinity.
