Curry Mee

Recommended by Geri Tan and 12 other food critics.
"There were so much ingredients in this bowl – I must say the price was very value for money. I loved how the pig skin and tau pok had soaked up all those gravy so when I put them in the mouth, the gravy just oozed out from them. So shiok. Cheap and good food, what’s not to like?"

Assam laksa

Recommended by Robyn Eckhardt and 5 other food critics.
"The addition of chunks of canned sardine (yes, canned) is a nice touch and the sambal (you'll need to ask for it if you don't look like a Malaysian) is truly fiery. In two weeks I will so be pining for this lunch."

"Sample the best asam laksa in Chinatown."

"A bowl of curry laksa with added chicken curry served with generous amount of other toppings such as cockles, brinjals, long beans, pork skin and tofu pok. Everything was great and the chicken curry and brinjals really stood out."
"At this Chinatown stall the rice flour-based noodles are thick and gelatinous, while the soup is thicker than those found at regular hawker stalls around the city, clearly making this dish memorable."
"This curry mee came with cockles that were just perfect, they were big, juicy, and almost raw. Then there’s those yummy deep fried pork skin, a few slices of eggplants, long beans, and tofupok in those thick curry gravy."
"For the curry laksa, bubbling hot curry broth is ladled into a bowl full of tau fu pok, brinjal, cockles, pork rind and noodles – it’s a dish that’s jam-packed with flavours and textures."
"The assam laksa is just as good, thanks to the tangy, sweet and sour broth that’s just mildly spicy."
"Curry laksa is my favourite here. It is spicy and the broth is full of flavour."
"The Asam Laksa packs a punch of flavors that will tantalize every sensory on your palate, The springy texture of the noodle is masked by generous bits of mackerel fish, and every bite of this makes your mouth waters even more as the lime perfectly blends well with this noodle."
"There is not a large amount of coconut milk in the curry broth, which makes it the sort of curry I would like. The broth is fragrant, not overly salty."
