Lietuviškas Varškės Sūris

Lietuviškas varškės sūris is a cow's milk curd cheese made throughout Lithuania using traditional methods. Additionally, aromatic herbs and salt can be added to the cheese, but usually, it is produced without flavorings or additives. It has a distinctive triangular shape and it can be eaten fresh, baked, dried or smoked, depending on the taste.

The flavor of Lietuviškas varškės sūris is acidic, milky and smoky (in smoked cheeses only). This unique cheese is often eaten at weddings, celebrations or social gatherings, with jam, honey, in sandwiches, or paired with beer.
