Falstaff - 99

Le Pin 2020 has a deep garnet-purple color. It starts off a little subdued before erupting from the glass with powerful notes of plum preserves, blackberry compote, dark chocolate, smoked meats, and Indian spices, leading to touches of crushed rocks, black truffles, and cast-iron pan.

The medium to full-bodied palate is densely laden with taut, muscular fruits, framed by very firm, ripe, rounded tannins and wonderful tension, finishing very long with loads of mineral and savory layers.

About Château Le Pin

Château Le Pin, one of the world’s most renowned wine estates, is owned by the Thienpont family, specifically by Jacques Thienpont, who acquired the property in 1979. Château Le Pin, or simply Le Pin, is a Bordeaux wine from the appellation Pomerol.

The unusually small estate is located on the Right Bank of France's Gironde estuary in the commune of Pomerol in the hamlet of Catusseau, and its wine is frequently one of the world's most expensive red wines.
