Dark 'n' Stormy was invented in Bermuda after World War II by Gosling Brothers Ltd. The cocktail is made with a combination of dark rum and ginger beer. It is a protected trademark of Gosling Brothers Ltd since 1991, so similar drinks are often named Safe Harbor in order to avoid litigation.


Dark 'n' Stormy is traditionally prepared by pouring the ingredients over ice in a highball glass that is garnished with a lime wedge.

Often called Bermuda’s national drink, Rum Swizzle is a rum-based cocktail which, in addition to black and gold rum, consists of pineapple juice, orange juice, lemon juice, grenadine, Bermuda Falernum, and Angostura bitters. The cocktail is a big part of Bermuda Islands’ culture and cuisine since the mid 18th century, and nowadays it exists in several versions.


Some of the most famous versions of this tropical drink are Kingston Swizzle, which contains hot water, Kona Swizzle, and Martinique Swizzle. Rum Swizzle is prepared by vigorously mixing the ingredients with crushed ice.


It is typically served in a cocktail glass, garnished with an orange wheel and cherries.

Royal Bermuda Yacht Club is a vintage cocktail made with a combination of rum, orange liqueur, lime juice, and falernum liqueur. In order to prepare it, all ingredients should simply be shaken with ice, then strained into a chilled cocktail glass.


If desired, the drink can be garnished with a lime wheel. This pre-Tiki cocktail was originally invented by Trader Vic at the eponymous club. The club was established in 1844, and it was often frequented by British Army Officers.
