Hong Kong milk tea is a beverage with a creamy and smooth texture, made with a combination of water, black tea leaves, and either sweetened condensed milk or evaporated milk and sugar. The drink is called milk tea in order to distinguish it from Chinese tea, which is typically served plain.

It is also known as silk stocking tea or pantyhose tea because the beverage is often prepared in a tea sock resembling pantyhose. Hong Kong milk tea was influenced by the British tradition of afternoon tea, stemming from the time of British colonial rule over Hong Kong.

Yuanyang is a drink that combines coffee and tea. It typically consists of three parts coffee and seven parts black milk tea—a combination of water, black tea leaves, and either sweetened condensed milk or evaporated milk and sugar.

This coffee-tea combination originated in Hong Kong, where it is commonly sold by street vendors. Each vendor usually has a signature recipe that may differ in the choice of coffee and the proportions of both beverages. The name yuanyang (which refers to mandarin ducks) was given as a poetic reference because the ducks represent a symbol of conjugal love in which opposites attract.

Gunner is a cocktail that is popular in Hong Kong and parts of India which were formerly under British rule. It is made with a combination of equal parts ginger ale and ginger beer or lemonade, often with the addition of Angostura bitters or lime juice cordial.

Due to its low alcoholic content, it is considered a non-alcoholic cocktail or a mocktail. The drink is especially popular in Hong Kong bars and golf clubs that are frequented by expats.
