Taittinger Folies de la Marquetterie is a distinguished champagne that reflects the rich heritage and craftsmanship of the Taittinger house. This unique cuvée is made exclusively from grapes grown in the vineyards surrounding the historic 18th-century Château de la Marquetterie, the birthplace of Taittinger’s champagne legacy.
The name "Folies" carries a dual meaning in French, referring both to the steep slopes of the land and to the "folly" or passionate ambition of cultivating vines in such challenging terrain. The blend consists of 55% Pinot Noir, which brings structure and richness, and 45% Chardonnay, contributing elegance and finesse.
Following careful vinification, the wine is aged in old oak barrels, adding complexity and subtle toasted notes. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of ripe peach and apricot jam, enhanced by hints of toasted brioche and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and fruit-forward, with flavors of golden peach and a delicate wood-accented finish.
The Taittinger Champagne House stands as a symbol of elegance, refinement, and unwavering commitment to quality. Founded in the heart of the Champagne region, this family-owned winery nurtures a long tradition of crafting exceptional champagnes that captivate the world with their freshness, finesse, and depth of flavor.
Unlike many major houses, Taittinger remains firmly in family hands, ensuring a personal dedication to every step of the winemaking process. Their vineyards span an impressive 288 hectares, with a significant portion planted with Chardonnay — a varietal that lends Taittinger champagnes their distinctive, sophisticated character.
Beyond its exceptional wines, Taittinger is renowned for blending art with champagne through its prestigious “Taittinger Collection” — a series of limited-edition bottles designed by some of the world’s most celebrated artists. Taittinger is not just a drink — it’s an experience.
