Saint-Bris | Local Wine Appellation From Yonne, France | TasteAtlas

Saint-Bris

Saint-Bris is a French appellation located in Auxerrois (Yonne) region of Burgundy that produces aromatic white wines exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris. The wines produced in the area range from pale straw to golden. Although they are quite versatile, they tend to display aromas of citrus fruits, peaches, and some exotic nuances reminiscent of lychee.

Notes of undergrowth and spices can also be present. They are mostly enjoyed young though some may be left to age. Lively and aromatic, these wines are an excellent match to goat cheese, fish, crustaceans, and oysters, but they also make an excellent aperitif.
