Dara thong

Dara thong, meaning golden star, is a traditional egg-based dessert. This sweet treat is typically made by combining flour, sugar, egg yolks, and jasmine-flavored water. The resulting mixture is molded into a crown shape, adorned with roasted and sugar-coated watermelon seeds, and finished off with a piece of gold leaf on top.


The creation of this dessert has been attributed to Dame Jue Nakornrachaseni and is believed to date back to the 1930s.
