Recommendations

"It was a very good bowl of ramen. The pork was tender and the soup was superb. It was perhaps one of the better bowls of ramen that I have had."
"So, what is it about Ichiran Ramen that we loved so much? The entire process was fun, the ramen was delicious, it was affordable, and you could customize your order exactly the way you liked it. The ramen they serve is a classic tonkotsu ramen, which is a pork-based broth, and they are very particular about each and every ingredient that goes into their soup, from the water, to the home-made noodles, to the secret red sauce. We ordered different combinations every time we visited, and I think we ... Read more
"One of the best tonkotsu ramen to dig in while in Tokyo."
"The noodles were extremely delicious! They were very skinny, but firm and had a great bite. The tonkotsu (pork-based) soup was also one of the best I’ve had. It was light but still rich in flavour. I liked how it wasn’t too salty like many of the other broths I”ve had."
"The combination of rich tonkotsu (pork-based soup), thin noodles that are smooth, and a secret sauce made with more than 30 kinds of red peppers make a top grade bowl of ramen."
"The supreme master of ramen shops in Japan, Ichiran is probably the most well-known ramen chain outside of Japan. A snaking line of hungry diners can be seen outside the shop every day – that’s how popular it is. Ichiran probably has the richest broth out of all the ramen shops that I have tried, as well as the option to customize the noodles to suit your fancy."
"When in Tokyo, the best place to experience authentic, affordable tonkotsu ramen is definitely at Ichiran. While the ramen I had wasn’t probably the best I ever had, I’d head back to Ichiran for a quick ramen fix in a heartbeat."
"Ichiran Ramen is a chain of restaurants famous for its tonkatsu ramen and secret red sauce. For me, it’s one of the best ramen I’ve had. Make sure you slurp your ramen! In other societies, slurping your food is frowned upon. But in Japan, it’s not only polite. It’s the proper way to enjoy ramen. Go down the stairs and you have arrived at ramen heaven. Before you know it, you’ll be slurping some of the best ramen you will eat."
"If you find yourself in Fukuoka, I recommend visiting Ichiran for the unique dining experience as much as the soup. Personally, I would also make numerous visits to various other local ramen places, but I’m sure you can tell I have a bit of an obsession with the Japanese version of noodle soup. Even if you don’t make it to Fukuoka and are limited to Tokyo, Osaka or any other major Japanese city, I would seek out the local branch of Ichiran at least once.
"Whenever I have visiting guests I take them to Ichiran Ramen and they always request a second visit. For me, the delicious smell of Ichiran Ramen takes me back to my happy student days and will always hold a place in my heart!"

"Queue is always long at Ichiran but it is worth it. You fill out an order card indicating how much of garlic, green onion, how rich the flavour, how spicy you would like your bowl to have. Amazing ramen - must try when you're in Japan!"
