"If you are in Düsseldorf, visit the Brauhaus and don't forget to eat the delicious frikadellen (a kind of flattened meatball, but even better) with Löwensenf."

"Uerige is not everyone's cup of tea, but you have to have been to Uerige. Situated in the middle of the old town, young and old meet here on all kinds of occasions to drink Altbier and eat Frikadellen."

"After the second slice of bread with Schweinskopfsülze, washed down with another drinkable Alt, I was already blissfully floating on cloud nine."

"The last dish was schweinskopfsülze. Schweinskopfsülze was formed pork with a gelatin surrounding it. After I returned home, I later found out it was “pig’s head”. It was surprisingly tasty."

"The last dish was mett. Mett appeared to be raw pork and figuring that I would do as the Roman’s do, I ate that as well. It was surprisingly tasty."

"The last dish was leberwurst. I confirmed that leberwurst was indeed liverwurst. It was surprisingly tasty."

"Despite all of the dishes appearing to be quite ordinary, I was delighted by the fact that everything tasted really fresh. In fact, we had gotten used to skinless hot dogs and it was a delight to bite into a frankfurter to get that nice "snap’’ and release of flavor."
"A variety of bar meals can be ordered, but my favourite is simple, cheap and tasty; the Leberwurst (liver sausage) is made in the on-site butchers. Served with a round of rye bread, it seems to complement the beer perfectly."
