Tenderskin is an American apple variety originating from South Carolina and dating back to 1858. It was released to the market by 1950. The apples are small to medium in size, with a rectangular to conical shape. The skin is yellow striped with pink or red.
Beneath it, the texture of the flesh is juicy and tender, while the flavors are slightly tart and pleasant. Tenderskin apples ripen in late fall and have a nice and pleasant flavor even before they fully mature on the tree. It’s recommended to use these apples in desserts and for making cider.
