Sundowner

Sundowner is a term referring to any alcoholic beverage sipped at the end of the day, but it also refers to several different cocktails. In most cases, it is prepared with cognac or brandy, Galliano, Cointreau, lemon juice, and orange juice.

In order to prepare it, all ingredients should be shaken with ice, then either strained into an ice-filled old-fashioned glass or strained into a chilled cocktail glass. If desired, Sundowner can be garnished with a lemon wedge or a lemon twist. There is also the South African version of Sundowner, distinctive for the fact that it is made with Van der Hum, a tangerine-flavored liqueur.
