Stayman Apples | Local Apple Variety From Leavenworth, United States of America | TasteAtlas

Stayman apples

Stayman is an American apple variety that was develiped in 1866 in Kansas by Joseph Stayman, hence the name. The apples are known for their striking red-green-yellow color. The texture of the flesh is firm, crisp, and juicy, while the flavors are robust, spicy, sweet, and tart.

It's recommended to eat Stayman apples in their raw and fresh form as a snack or use them in pies. The apples also make for a nice addition to blended cider, and they're usually available in early October.
