"A consistent favorite of discerning palates, here Chef Rafael Osterling produces a panoply of fusion dishes, such as tiradito bathed in Japanese citrus."

"The 15-table restaurant is housed in a 1940’s mansion. Don’t let the traditional atmosphere here fool you: The Asian- and Mediterranean-inflected Peruvian dishes, such as lomo saltado made with rice vinegar and pisco, are exquisitely prepared by the chef-owner Rafael Osterling Letts."

"The sauce was lively and the sliced, raw fish nearly melted in our mouths."

"For an appetizer, I ordered the Rafael version of the classic Spanish dish, Pulpo a la Gallega. Best version I’ve ever been served anywhere in the world. It was extraordinarily good. The octopus was soft like cream. Not the least bit chewy. And the accompanying sauce and condiments elevated the dish to new levels. This dish was exploding with flavor."
"We never come to Peru without making a visit to Rafael. Hands down our favorite restaurant in the world. Our recommendation: The Tuna Tiradito (with or without the Leche de Tigre)."

"The Emperor tacos alone were worth the visit with crisp sea grouper and prawns, shredded cabbage and radishes on small tortillas dotted with housemade avocado cream and mole."

"The beef was tender and nicely rare and served with corn (choclo) and rice. The corn are huge tasty kernels and full of flavor and were good on their own but also nice when mixed with the beef and its sauce. Everything blended together very well and the accompanying potatoes were fried to a perfect blistered crisp to bring a wonderful crunch to the dish. It was another plate licker!"
