Qagħqa tal-appostli

Qagħqa tal-appostli is a traditional ring-shaped bread originating from Malta. The bread is usually made with a combination of flour, yeast, water, salt, sugar, and olive oil. The dough is kneaded and left to rest, and the process is repeated three times before it's shaped into a ring, sprinkled with sesame seeds, and studded with whole almonds.

Once baked and golden brown, the bread should have a crunchy crust, while the inside should be soft. Qagħqa tal-appostli is traditionally made and enjoyed during Lent.
