Pink Lady | Local Cocktail From United States of America | TasteAtlas

Pink Lady

Originating from the United States at the end of the 19th century, Pink Lady is a cocktail based on gin, with the addition of grenadine syrup and egg whites. Its beautiful pink color comes from grenadine, while the white foam on top is a result of shaken egg whites.

However, some of the versions exclude egg whites from the mix, while others sometimes include lemon juice. Regardless of the varieties, Pink Lady is typically served straight up in a cocktail glass, and it is garnished with lime, cherries, or raspberries.

Due to its name, color, and sweet flavor, Pink Lady unfairly gained the reputation of a typical "girly" drink, although every alcohol afficionado knows that there is no place for discrimination in the world of cocktails.
