2024

Midleton Very Rare Dair Ghaelach Kilranelagh Wood is the fifth release in the esteemed Dair Ghaelach series by Midleton Distillery. This exceptional single pot still Irish whiskey is initially matured in American oak bourbon barrels before undergoing a finishing period in virgin Irish oak casks crafted from six trees sourced from the Kilranelagh Estate in County Wicklow.

Bottled at cask strength, ranging from 56.8% to 57.5% ABV, it offers a robust and lively profile. The nose presents forest notes of fresh pine, floral honey, and ground pepper, with sweet and tropical fruits emerging alongside herbal green tea and freshly mown hay.

The palate is rich and complex, featuring dried chili flakes, red bell peppers, candied orange, and crisp red apple, complemented by sweet vanilla and cinnamon spice from the Irish oak. The finish is wonderfully long, with pot still spices and oak lingering effortlessly.
