Masna pogača is a Croatian bread made with flour, milk, water, yeast, sugar, salt, eggs, and grease or margarine. During the kneading of the dough, it should be smeared with fat, then folded three times. The dough is then baked until golden brown.
Before taking the bread out of the oven, it is often brushed with egg yolks in order to get a ruddy color. When the bread is taken out of the oven, it is sprayed with cold water and wrapped in a large washcloth so that it gets steamed. The bread is usually torn into pieces, and it is rarely cut.
