La Tour Eiffel

La Tour Eiffel is an American cocktail that was inspired by Sazerac. It combines Cognac, absinthe, Cointreau, and Suze—herbal liqueur from France with a spicy and bitter character. To make the cocktail, absinthe is poured in a flute glass, which is then twirled to coat the sides.

Excess absinthe is then discarded. Cognac, Cointreau, and Suze are poured into a mixing glass filled with ice. The mix is then strained into a chilled flute glass. The cocktail was a creation of Gary Gaz Regan, who modeled it on the legendary Sazerac.

After a visit to the Cognac region, Regan was inspired by this legendary French drink and thought it would be interesting to create a French-inspired Sazerac. The main idea was to imagine how Sazerac would look if made in France instead of New Orleans.

He named the cocktail after the best-known Paris landmark, which was built in 1889, the same year Suze was created. This cocktail is traditionally served in a flute glass. It is garnished with a lemon twist.
