Gyūhi | Traditional Dessert From Japan | TasteAtlas

Gyūhi

(求肥, Soft Mochi)

The softer, sweeter, and more delicate version of traditional Japanese mochi is known as gyūhi. Similar to mochi, it is made with glutinous rice flour or pounded glutinous rice. Since it resembles pliable dough, it is often molded into different shapes and tinted with a variety of natural and artificial food colorings.

Even though it is not as frequent as mochi treats, it is a vital part of Japanese cuisine.
