Gizdodo | Traditional Offal Dish From Nigeria | TasteAtlas

Gizdodo

Gizdodo is a traditional dish consisting of chicken gizzards and plantains (dodo), hence the name. In order to prepare it, boiled gizzard pieces are deep-fried and mixed with fried plantains. The combination is then drizzled over with a sauce consisting of tomatoes, green and red bell peppers, and onions.

If desired, hot habanero peppers can also be added to the mix. In Nigeria, gizdodo is a staple at parties, served as an appetizer or the main meal, and it's often accompanied by other dishes on the side, such as jollof rice.
