Dirty Shirley

Dirty Shirley is the boozy version of a standard (non-alcoholic) Shirley Temple. Along with traditional ingredients that include ginger ale, grenadine, and lemon-lime soda or a squeeze of lemon or lime, the alcoholic version will also have a shot of vodka, or less commonly, a shot of rum.

The drink is usually served in a Collins or tall highball glass and comes topped with maraschino cherries and sometimes a lime wheel. Another variation known as Dirty Shirley Black—which is a reference to Shirley Temple's married name—will include a shot of dark rum.
