Fiddler Toasted Bourbon is a cask-strength, high-wheat bourbon crafted by ASW Distillery in Atlanta, Georgia. This expression features a mash bill of 51% corn, 45% wheat, and 4% malted barley, distinguishing it with a higher wheat content than many traditional wheated bourbons.
The bourbon undergoes initial aging in new American white oak barrels with char levels ranging from 1 to 4. It is then finished in toasted barrels of varying toast levels for periods between two to twenty months, enhancing its flavor complexity. Each batch is unique, with specific finishing details provided on the label.
Bottled at cask strength, Fiddler Toasted Bourbon is non-chill filtered and contains no added color, preserving its natural character. Tasting notes include aromas of freshly charred oak, vanilla, custard creaminess, and raspberry. The palate offers a balance of toasted oak influence with rich sweetness, featuring flavors of brown sugar, vanilla, and toasted maple.
ASW Distillery, founded in 2016 by co-founders Jim Chasteen and Charlie Thompson, is a prominent craft distillery located in Atlanta, Georgia. It holds the distinction of being the second legally licensed distillery in Atlanta since the end of Prohibition and is renowned for distilling the city's first single malt whiskey.
