Asiático is a Spanish cocktail made with a combination of coffee, condensed milk, brandy, and Licor 43 – a local liqueur. The drink should be served in a thick, resistant, specially designed glass with coffee beans, lemon rind, and cinnamon.
The early version of Asiático was first prepared by local fishermen who carried
recuelo (poor quality coffee), milk, and brandy on their fishing trips to keep them warm. Nowadays, the cocktail is being promoted by the City Council in order to make it a tourist attraction.
