Alberto

Alberto is a classic cocktail consisting of equal parts gin, Lillet, and dry sherry. It also includes a dash of Cointreau, while fino or manzanilla are preferred sherry options. Alberto is made by combining all the ingredients in a mixing glass filled with ice.

The combination is mixed until chilled and is then strained into a cocktail glass. This classic cocktail was first featured in Café Royal Cocktail Book, published in 1937 by W. J. Tarling. The book references A. J. Smith as the inventor. Alberto is mainly classified as an ideal aperitif.

It is usually served in a coupe glass and is sometimes garnished with an orange twist.
