"For my main course I chose a Shepherds Pie which was warm and filling, perfect for this time of year. It was very tasty but a little too much. I couldn’t finish it all."
"My main course; Shepherds Pie with Sweetbreads totally amazing, so meaty and the mash with the crispy top was beautiful."
"Shepherd’s pie with lamb shoulder, breast and sweetbreads was joyous. Inside was a dense, meaty, almost syrupy filling; the lamb breast gave the sauce a rich, jellied thickness, while the sweetbreads gave the whole an intense richness and a malevolent hint of offaly darkness."
"Served at the table in its cast iron cooking pan, it had almost a manicured look, so perfectly was it formed. Dipping a spoon underneath the potato crust revealed a layer of lamb, oozy with a beautiful sauce. This was exceptionally good."
"When it arrived I was put at ease, it was like no shepherds pie ever! It was so nicely cooked, crisp top and studded with horseradish to give it a hum. It was just delicious."
