White Cargo

White Cargo is a vintage, ice-cream-based cocktail. It is a simple, two-ingredient cocktail whose basic form only includes vanilla ice cream and gin. Both ingredients are shaken, usually with ice, until well combined. The mixture is then poured into a cocktail glass.


If the mix is too thick, it can be diluted with white wine. White Cargo can be served in a coupe or a martini glass. It is sometimes garnished with freshly grated nutmeg. The recipe was first published in the legendary Savoy Cocktail Book by Harry Craddock.
