Vinsobres | Local Wine Appellation From Drôme, France | TasteAtlas

Vinsobres

Located in the south of Rhône valley, Vinsobres is a French appellation designated for garnet-colored red wines that are mainly produced from Grenache, while Syrah or Mourvèdre can be used as blending grapes. These full-bodied red wines will usually display aromas of red and black berries that are mostly accompanied by floral and spicy nuances as well as notes of fruit brandy or leather.

Those aged for longer periods may also develop smoky and vanilla notes. Vinsobres wines are rich and powerful, with a long finish and well-structured, firm tannins. They would be an excellent match to grilled red meat and lamb. Aged varieties may pair well with game.
