Tursan Rouge | Local Wine Appellation From Landes, France | TasteAtlas

Tursan Rouge

Tursan is a French appellation located in Gascony, more specifically in the Chalosse wine region, but administratively it is shared between the regions of Gers and Landes. The principal grape varieties used in the region include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tannat.

These dark red wines will usually display aromas of red fruits, leather, and spices. Although their character may slightly vary due to the choice and percentage of grapes, they are typically full-bodied and powerful, with firm, well-structured tannins.

Red Tursan pairs well with rich stews, hearty chicken dishes, pork, and red meat.
